Attention LSD Employees! Health Insurance Open Enrollment August 2 - 31.

Employees can drop their forms off between the hours of 9 am to 2 pm in Risk Management. Information on plan choices/rates are now available. We’ve added a new plan choice. Plan changes will NOT be accepted after August 31st. Please see attached flyer for more information.
Notice of Public Hearing and Proposal to Implement Developer Fees
There will be a public hearing held at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on August 17, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
2010-11 Calendar
In a return to tradition, the Lancaster School District 2010-11 school year will begin after Labor Day on September 8, 2010. See attached Board approved calendar.
Preschool Now Enrolling

The Lancaster School District Early Childhood Education Program is now enrolling for the 2010-2011 school year for three- and four-year-old children.

Lancaster Alternative Virtual Academy (LAVA) Now Enrolling for 2010-11

Lancaster Alternative Virtual Academy offers an alternative to the traditional public school setting in a web-based program completely cost free to parents. As part of the Lancaster School District, LAVA delivers a standards-based core curriculum with electives catered to the needs of each student. Every subject is delivered online, with support from fully credentialed teachers.
Summer Educational Activities
There are many fun and educational internet sites for those long summer days when kids are bored.
Some 5th Grade Students to Remain in Current Schools for 6th Grade Year
For the 2010-11 school year, El Dorado, Mariposa, Miller, Monte Vista, Nancy Cory, and Sunnydale will become K-6 schools.
Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Supplemental Educational Services are free tutoring available to increase academic achievement of students from low-income families attending public schools receiving Title I funds and designated as Program Improvement (PI) schools in Year 2 or beyond.
